About this product
GibTalk is an AAC (augmentative and alternative communication) app for children and adults who can't yet rely on speech. Tap a picture and the phone says the word or sentence out loud, in Malay, English or any language the device has a voice for.
I built it after my own children's time at Permata Kurnia. Parents there kept facing the same questions: which phone or tablet to buy, whether to pay for an expensive AAC app, or wait for a promotion. GibTalk is free on both Android and iPhone/iPad, with no ads, no subscription and no account, and it works offline.
It comes with ready-made boards in Malay and English (meal times, greetings, play, Ramadan, songs and more), and families can make their own with their own photos. Teachers and therapists can build and print boards from a computer at gibtalk.com.
